Today in CWI we continued to watch The World is Flat.6. What was the importance of Netscape going public on 8-9-95?Netscape allowed common individuals to access the internet. This began the huge .com boom, and provided infinate information to the world, not just scientists or the government. Soon, thousands of dollars were spent on the laying of fiber optic cables, to increase the information sharing.7. What is outsourcing/offshoring and why are many Americans opposed to it?Outsourcing- A company moves certain componants to another country.Offshore- A company takes itself out of the country, making its base in another.Americans are angered by this, for they feel that it takes away jobs. It takes away the jobs of hard-working Americans, and simply gives them to others.8. Give two examples of “open-sourcing”.Free sources that anyone can get.
