The progressive are was from 1890- 1920's that reform happened. A lot of change came about to help the common people. There are 4 goals of progressive. 1: protecting social welfare. 2: promoting moral improvement. 3: creating economic reform. 4:1. What did the progressives do to make the workplace safer?- Florence Kelly was the head of the national consumer’s league. They went around and talked about the working conditions. It was very dangerous.- The working hours was changed so they could only work a certen amount of time so people wouldn't get over tired.- Today the times have changed. If you got hurt on the job you would get paid while you are healing.3. What is prohibition? Why did people want prohibition to come about? What tactics were used to bring about prohibition?- A time in the late 1800's the sales and manufacturing of alcohol was banned.- There was a doc. that says that drinking to much alcohol could damage your system.- Carry nation would go into bars and destroy them with an ax.- The 18th amendment stopped alcohol.I think that changing the policy’s for the working hours was great!!! If they still had the same hours a lot more people would suffer from lack of sleep! Also the safety was good to change, that way people don’t get hurt and they don’t die!!!
