Nate and Shelbie did the same person. George Eastman came up with the name Kodak because he like the letter "k". He had to leave highschool to support his family because his dad died. Every grade was in one room. At first you could go to school for free so everybody could go. The indians invaded the americans because they were being forced to live on reservations and the americans were taking all their stuff. 300 indians died and only 25 americans died. The railroads would move the cattle for them. They had to move the cows every two weeks because they would eat all the grass. The railroads were very expensive to haul cattle.Rachel talked about the homestead act. There were 150 acres per family. It was basically just giving away land. There was a massive give away in Oklahoma. 96 million acres were given away. You had to build a house on the land and be the head of the household. You had to stay there for about 5 years.Bri did her blog on the voting policy. They wouldn't let African Americans vote. They would make up a test in another language and the african americans had to read it. They made a law that if their grandfather voted then they could vote.April did her blog on Sequoyah. He was born in 1760 ish and lived in a village with his mother most of his life. He became a black smith and dealt a lot with white men and the communication between indians. He stared to make kind of an alphabet thing. He started with like the sounds of our letters and he took it to the indians and they didn't want it. A little while after they accepted it. The Cheerokee Nation created a newspaper in their language.
