Today in class I read about Boss Tweed and his ring because I missed that when I was sick and I really didn't get an answer about it. I learned that his ring basically led the local government. They took taxpayers money and used it to pay people insane wages for little or no work. This was because he liked most of the local contractors and told them to take their wage and multiply it by 5,10, or even 100 times.
