Today in Us History, Mr. Bruns began talking about Section 7-3.Political Machine is an Organization that would run the day to day political status. Republicans and Democrats both had their own. Boss William Macy Tweed was in charge of the Political Machine and would have toehr peopel do his deeds for politics.Immigrants liked Tweed because he gave them places to live and food after they get off Ellis Island.The Kick Back system was where Tweed would keep his money and then kick it back to protect himself when he needed to. Tweed would charge people to vote for him and give them somethign in return.Poltical bosses were the ones who hired and fired security forces such as police when they felt it necessary.Some causes for the conspiracy and bad things going on in the government was the spoils system. Hayes, Garfield, and Arthur all tried to reform the government. The Pendleton Civil Service Act required most government jobs to be given through a merit system based on test scores.
