Bruns was gone again today with his swine flu infected child. Try saying "swine flu infected child" five times fast. Anyways, we had a work day today. I spent my class time looking for a new section to blog about. I picked Chapter 7, Section 3. I must say, I have learned quite a bit about political machines from around 1865-1900, that is a reflection and representation of modern day politics.I learned what a political machine was for starteds. A Political Machine is a political party that tries to win office in the a large city. The victor basically becomes ruler of the city. I also learned about a very famous scandal involving a "Boss" by the name of William Marcy Tweed. This dude embezzled well over 13 million dollars from the tax payers of New York in just one construction project. I'm going to write my blog about that scandal. That stuff still goes on today, and must be some entry ritual to show status amongst politicians in todays world.
