This past Friday, April 24, a research group using seismic technology to view below the surface of Yellowstone national park found out that there is enough magma; hot liquid rock; to fill the Grand Canyon over 14 times. This magma is located in a different chamber that is under the first chamber they had found. Now that the have found this they can conclude why Yellowstone was responsible for some of earths biggest explosions ever.
Other research that they had done is to see if it was likely to erupt anytime soon. After a ton of research the scientist's have found out that it will not erupt in the next few thousand years. Utah scientist has put a 1 - 700,000 chance of it erupting in the next couple of years; which is about the same chance of a person getting stuck by lighting.
Are you still a little bit nervous about it erupting in your lifespan? Why?
Would you still want to go visit Yellowstone know this? If not, Why?

Not really. I know there is some mistakes in science, but they wouldnt be that many years off. And yes, i would still like to go to yellowstone. It would be awesome. You could say that you stood on a super volcano.
I'm not nervous about it if there is that low of chance of it exploding in a few years. I would still want to visit there because its such a cool thing to see.
I'm really not that nervous about this all im hoping is that it lasts at least another 100 years soi get to live my life but i guess if it blows it blows. I would 100% want to see Yellowstone i heard its just beautiful
Im guessing it wouldn't erupt in my life span and i hope it wouldn't for the sake of the peoples safety around there. Yes i still would visit there because it would be a cool place and i dont think it would erupt
I think this is kind of crazy, hopefully it doesnt erupt. I would still go because it is a cool place and has a lot to offer.
I would hope that it never erupts because it would effect the entire world.
I want to go to Yellowstone National Park because I heard it is very pretty and something to see. I hope to one day visit there, but I hope that it doesn't ever erupt because there is thousands of people who visit there a day.
No, not really because yeah I think it is scary to think that there is a chance of it erupting but also the scientists have put a very little chance on it happening so I think that I believe them. Well maybe go visit because it is a very good and beautiful, cool place but then knowing there is a little chance of it happening I would not want to be there when it happened.
