On April 6th WWE's Bret Hart was in the middle of giving his hall of fame speech when a "fan" jumped into the ring and attacked him. The attack only lasted a few seconds as many other wrestlers jumped in to help Bret. The fan, Zachary Madsen, was charged with two counts of third degree assult, criminal trespass, and a misdemeanor. Bret was accompanied by his niece and she was take to the floor in the midst of the fight, but she was not injured. He was not taken to the hospital and was able to finish his speech. The fans intentions were unclear, but he was taken to jail and got what he deserved.
Why do you think the fan attacked Hart?
I don't know why anyone would try something like this, but maybe the fan had a lot of hatred towards the wrestler.
How would you feel if someone tried to do something like this to you?
I would be more confused than anything. I would also be mad knowing that this speech is very important and to have someone come and ruin it would be terrible.

I don't watch much wrestling anymore, but a lot of drama like this, or worst, would always happen during some events; perhaps maybe to get some views. I would feel mad and disappointed on somebody that interrupts and proceeds to attack me during a speech.
The fan most likely attacked Hart for political beliefs or a variety of other factors. Maybe Hart wasnt performing how the fan expected or he posssibly could have been mentally ill and/or intoxicated. I mean obviously id be upset and confused but what more can you do its not like I could prevent such an attack
The person probably did it because they wanted to get attention or they just really didn't like him because of the charactor they have to be when performing. I would be very confused mostly becuase I has never seen the person in my life and it was an important event in the persons life why would you want to ruin that.
I agree with you, usually if you get next to your idol you either love all over them or try and get a picture. There must have been something that happened recently that upset the fan causing him to attack Hart. I would be horrified and confused on how one of my fans would want to attack me.
1) I really believe that the only reason that he attacked him was becasue the fan probably hated him a lot. I really don't fins another reason why anyone would attack Hart.
2) I would feel really terriable. I really would be quite confused on why someone would attack someone while they were giving a speech. I would be very confusing and very disappointed.
I think the fan thought that if the wrestler got hurt that he wouldn't be able to fight in the match. I would be confused and first and would want some help trying to get this guy out of my face.
I don't know why he wanted to attack Hart but a lot of fans always jump on stage or on a field. If this happened to me I would be confused as to why they wanted to attack me and why they thought it was a good idea.
I definitely don't think this guy should be considered a fan. He obviously had some hatred and maybe some disagreements with what Hart was saying in his speech. However, that doesn't give him the right to attack Hart at all. If someone tried to do this to me I would feel very disrespected and confused, like you had said. I just hope I would have people around, like the other wrestlers, to help me as well.
Fans can watch a show for a long time and become very upset with some of the participants. If they were to go to the show in real life and see this man that they felt like was someone who shouldn't be awarded the award they might want to show the guy how they felt about him. They might have thought others would join in.
