If your hair is a color other than the naturally blonde, red, brown, or black you can kicked out of class in Utah.
The principal of Hurricane Middle School wouldnt let 15 year old Rylee MacKay in school because her dyed hair color was not natural looking enough. She has been dying her hair for awhile, since September, and the principal just know took notice.
I think this is pretty stupid. I mean i can MAYBE understand like Neon green or blue, but in the picture her hair color is probably what a lot of people dye it to. What are your thoughts? Is this policy to strict? Are you glad we dont have that?

This is so stupid and funny at the same time. If this law Harlan accept we won't have any more female students. I think that people should have the right to die their hair in color they want.
I think that this might have something to do with the high population density of Mormons in Utah. They have a really strict appearance code and Utah schools are notorious for kicking people out for not following it. usually it's at the college level though. I think that as long as the appearance of a student doesn't break any decency laws it really shouldn't matter.
That isn't fair. People have the right to chose the freedom of expression, and it's not like the color of her hair is insulting or hurting anyone. The hair color isn't even that abnormal!!!
Is that even legal? I can see how maybe if someone had a really distracting and bright color then maybe, but if it is a pretty normal color then i don't get it.
this almost has to be a violation of an amendment because dying your hair is a freedom. There shouldnt be any reason why she cant go to school
That is dumb alot of people in the world get there hair dyed. why does it matter what your hair color is in school you come to learn.
I don't see the problem with dying hair other colors. It's just another way of expressing yourself. I would change schools if they didn't accept me for who I am or I would create a petition to go against this rule.
This is terrible and so offensive. Just because someone doesn't look exactly how you think they should doesn't mean you should be rude about. People should be able to express themselves in whatever way they want
That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I am so glad we don't have that and this policy is definitely too strict!!!
i think this is pretty pathetic.. just about everyone colors their hair. it's not a big deal or anything if it's a different color, some people's hair have natural high lights so it's hard to tell the difference anyways if they aren't going to extremes
