Craig Wylie, 39, spends up to 3 months on his amazinley accurate gigantic portaraits that are often mistaken for photographs. He captures the teeniest implacations down to the detail, such as: dimples and wrinkles around the eye. Craig uses mainly pencils, oil paints and charcoal. His largest portait was 6.5 ft x 9.8 ft. Craig was born in Zimbabwe but lives in London where he contstructs his masterpieces for 6 years and many of the inspirations are friends. He works off of photographs on his laptop and says that the ability to zoom has been crucial. Craig Wylie even got the chance to recreate double gold Olympic medalist Dame Kelly Holmes in paint after winning the BP Portait Prize.
Having an artist for a sister, Drea, I know what its like to be related to a painter. She even poured 3 months into a peniled portait of Dr. House that was 3.5x lifesize. It takes a skill that many have and many don't, including myself.
this is one of Craig's portaits

I'm always amazed that people can have this attention to detail and attention span. I'm envious of people that have talents and skills that developed.
I wish i had the dedication or attention span to do something like this. Even though art isnt my thing, i do enjoy looking at it.
