On March 2 and 3rd 28 year old Lauren Silberman will become the first woman in history to register for an NFL regional scouting combine. Silberman will compete with college kickers in New Jersey to advance to a Dallas super-regional combine in April. She doesn't have any football kicking on her résumé but she was a club soccer player at the University of Wisconsin.
What do you think about the first women trying out for the NFL? Do you think she has a chance in making it?

I think that it could kind of be cool for a woman to be in the NFL for once. Every one deserves a chance at it, it isn't really like a rule or anything that women can't play football for the NFL. I think it would be a great opportunity for her and a change for the NFL and maybe that change would be good!
Well here's what I think...most people would think of the NFL as a bunch of buff men. I can't imagine a women in the NFL. It is very dangerous it seems with the hitting, running into each other, etc. I believe that she should get a chance and put aside the fact that she is a female. Yet, I believe they need to think about how unsafe it may be for her.
Obviously she was not cut out for the job, and will not get into the NFL with two kicks that went less than 20 yards.
I don't think there is ever going to be a chance of women playing in the NFL. I think there would be more of a discrimination problem allowing women to play than not allowing them.
I think it's good that she is trying out but i think she won't make it. Just because she is a she. I mean it would be cool to have a female kicker and all but i doubt it's going to happen.
I think it's cool that she is trying out for the NFL and all but I don't think she will make it.
I think its certainly different but hey if shes willing to do it and try out i say be my guest. I have nothing wrong with a girl playing football, but people can not target or make fun of guys who tackle her when its right.
well im not sure what to think of it really i guess, shes brave for trying id say for sure
I think she has some real guts to do that, especially with the chances being slim to none on her getting in. I think she may have a chance if she puts in a whole bunch of practice in before the tryouts.
If she is going to do this it is going to take a lot of hard work and guts. Not considering that there are some coaches out there that probably wont even consider drafting her just because she is a female. (which is stupid)
