Should women be able to fight in the military? Well personally I think they should be able to. After all they have been associated in the war since 1898, the surgeon general authorized the right for nurses to be in contract with the military. Women made clothes, took care of wounds, helped with food, cooked and cleaned both laundry and cannons. The authorization did not specify a required gender, women applied.
1948, three years after the end of World War II, President Harry S. Truman signed the Women's Armed Services Integration Act into law, officially allowing women to serve as full, permanent members of all branches of the Armed Forces.
Women have been in the military for the past 200 years. Some women even disguised themselves as men just to get in on the action. For example Margaret Corbin was one of those women. She snuck into the Battle of Fort Washington. Even after her husband was shot and killed she kept fighting. She even got shot three times, and still continued to fight. I don’t see why we shouldn't let women continue to have the right to carry a weapon. After all the women have done for us, we shouldn’t take away their rights. Everyone should have a chance to fight for what they believe in.
Do you think women should be allowed to serve in combat? Why or why
not ?
Do you think women should’ve got this right sooner?

Great topic choice Elana! Your summary is well writtne but you could have expanded on it and discussed how women can now serve in combat operation(since President Obama in like 2013). The two main issues is that you didn;t reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points and it's tow days late.
I believe yes, woman should be able to do combat. Their rights should have been sooner as well. If someone thinks they are capable of it and is willing to risk their life for the country they should do it, no matter the gender. Woman are just as capable to do combat as a man would be to certain circumstances.
I think that women should have been able to serve when men were able to. If someone says that they are willing to risk thier life and/or everything they have to protect our country, why would you not let them? As long as the person is able/capable of doing the job efficentally, let them.
I think that this right should have come to the table sooner. Both men and women can be equally as smart and strong. After all its more people in our nations military that all have the same drive to protect and serve the US.
I agree but women are allowed to fight in combat, and are allowed to have guns. Nobody is gonna take that away. People say how men are stronger and they are just better. Some men can be soft. Some women can be stronger and smarter then other males. I do think women should have gotten this right sooner.
Yes, I think that women should serve in combat. Women have played a great role in the history of wars. If women choose to support the country then I think they should be able to. America should take all of the help it can get when it comes to keeping the country safe. I think that women should have earned the right to fight long ago, and I am glad that they are fighting amongst the men in the armed forces today.
