Wow, it's just a grade. I'm sure if you just gave him a simple, 'you're grounded until it gets better' speach, it would have came up. No need to go crazy and get yourself in trouble.
This is just crazy I'm glad the woman went to jail. You never should physically punish your child for a stupid grade. Who knows this kid could have been struggleing in this subject and just didnt get the help that he needed. I think as a parent you need to sit them down and talk to them about why they earned that grade. Beating should never be allowed.
Wow, what a great mom. That's not even considered punishment, it's just straight up abuse. Grades can always improve but the way you treat your children will stick with you forever.
That is horrible parenting. I can't imagine what made her think that kind of behavior is okay. One F on a report card isn't that big of a deal. Its probably her abusive parenting thats causing the kid to get bad grades. I bet he's more worried about staying alive then getting good grades.
that's insane!! how can you get that mad over one bad grade? seriously, i think a lecture or a grounding would have been sufficient...rather than beat the kid with a spatula and try to choke him?!
bad parenting.. i think grounding is much more effective, choking him would probably just make him want to run away and if he reported it (and obviously people know about it) she can probably get in trouble with child services.
