Winter Weather Hits Hard

the middle and the north east get plowed with a heavy snow storm this week, millions without power and stuck in homes. News crew's said that the Boston area had the worst amount of snow and set major records of the snowiest 7 days of getting more than 40.2 inches of snow. Authorities have said around ten people have lost there lives and thousands with out power or heat. Boston Closed down streets and schools. Monday was another bad day for travelers because over 4,300 flights were cancelled and Tuesday there still will be over 500 delayed.

If you were in a situation on the highway where you got stuck what would do to stay safe until help arrives, and how would you handle the situation if your home lost all power

  • I would make sure to have blankets and emergency things for bad weather and situations like this. I would try to stay calm and call for help. If my home lost power I would stay warm with blankets and try to stay positive.

  • I would keep my car warm. I have blankets and warm supplies in my car in case this would ever happen. I have been without power for 6 days and we had a generator to use to keep our house warm, keep our refrigerator running, and other electricity we used. We had to eat lots of food we had on hand and could only use our microwave when it was plugged into the generator. We were careful with how much water we used and took showers at my grandparents' house.

  • On the highway, I would set up a conservation plan to conserve the battery of my car for heat, and in my house, I would block of all ways for heat to escape and condense everyone to one room for body heat.

  • I have lost power in my home before for like 5 days and we just blocked off our living room where we had a fire place so we were warm but if I was in my car i would keep it on because I don't think I would be their too long because its a highway.

  • If i would be stuck in the highway I would try to keep warm in order to not be cold.  If I was home without power I would stay warm as well wearm sweaters and sweat pants in order to stay warm.

  • I would try and stay calm and always have my phone, a flashlight, and a blanket on me. I would also look for the help of a police officer on the highway to help me get back home safely.

  • I would pull over as far as I could, and put on my warning signal lights so people could see that I was stuck. I would just have lots of blankets on if I lost all the power in my house, and probably play games that don't require electricity to keep myself busy.

  • Well First off i wouldn't be an idiot driving in that kind of weather. But being at home without power would really suck. No tv or phone charging, I guess I would read a book.

  • I would just try and stay as warm as I could in my car. If I were at home well most people have generators, but if i were at home id make sure i have blankets, and some food, and fluids. Also a first aid kit.
