will gun control stop violence?

Gun control refers to the legal measure that is put into place to prevent and resrict the posession and use of firearms. Gun control in the U,S, is specifically causing problems with the republicans who stand by the second amendment. Mass shooting have become more frequent and people have been placing the blame on guns. When Chuck Grassley was here he said something along the lines of how it is not the gun but it is the people who are pulling the triggers of the gun.

To be putting the blame on the gun is like saying my pencil took my test for me. If it were completely and 100% the gun then there would be a problem. Personlly I think we just need to be more cautious with who we are selling guns to. I also think by putting gun control in place is going to cause more problems then just making it harder for those with bad backgrouds to get guns.

With my dad's job involving a gun to keep him safe I may be biased to no contol but he is putting his life on the line to make yours safer. Guns aren't the problem, it is the people who own the gun.

Do you think we should add more restrictions? why?

Do you think guns or people are the problem? why?

  • I think that adding more restrictions will only affect people who abide by the law. If people want to commit a mass shooting then they will do whatever they can to do it. I think people are the problem. We need to get more mental help to the people that are at risk of commiting something like this.

  • I think that we should add more background checks to get weapons, but I don't think we should outlaw guns. I think people are the problem big time. We need more mental health measures to prevent these types of accidents that occur too often.

    • I agree with adding more background checks and not outlawing guns. I also think if there is suspicion of someone having a mental health issue then they should under go tests before being able to own a gun. They could harm themseves and others.

  • I think that adding restrictions in certain areas could and wouldn't help. I believe that restricting people(people with problems) on buying guns is the only reliable solution. People are the problem, anti-gun people need to realize that if you take guns away from the people that actually need it your doing something wrong.

  • Ik don't think more gun restrictions will help with the gun violence because the gun its self doesn't kill anyone, the people using it does. the more backgroung checks on the people buying the gun will help, but all of the restrictions on the people who can't buy a gun will still get one somehow.

    • I agree with the fact tht the guns don't kill by themselves and that it is the owner of the gun doing the killing. I also agree that the restrictions will help but not solve the situation completely. I also believe that people will still figure out how to get guns no matter what.

  • No I think that the more gun restriction will make the world more dangerous than ever because the gun contorl is only going to affect people who follow the law and have them not protect themselves. It's definetly people who are the problem because it has to be a person who pulls the trigger. I think that the more gun laws will make it worse because bad people are going to get gun anyway they can.
