I think America nuking Hiroshima was justified because the war would have stretched out killing more people. Secondly it prevented a two front war. Lastly it took out Germany’s ally out of the war making Germany fall.
First reason is war would have stretched out even longer, killing more people. The nuke did kill 80,000 people. But if America sent soldiers to Japan the war would have lasted another few years and in that time more than 80,000 people would have died.
Second reason is it prevented a two front war. The two front war would have made more Americans to be drafted. Meaning more people would have been thrown at the enemy meaning more deaths. This also would make the war slower to end and we could have suffered attacks on our homeland by Japan and their surprise attacks.
We also took Germany’s support away from them. This made Germany lose its help and its only ally. This made it so it was much easier for European countries to overtake Germany.
The only thing that was unjustified in my opinion was all the people that died. Out of those 80,000 deaths most of them were innocent people. Also it wiped out everything in the nukes blast radius. Making Japan pay for the damage and also wiping out many families that were not in the war.
Do you think Japan should have been nuked?
Yes, because it saved many American people’s lives and it stopped the war sooner.
Would you change America’s actions on Japan?
I would not change what America did because in the end it probably saved more lives.

Great topic choice but your summary is brief overall and all of your comments were done on one day instead of three.
Even though it may sound slefish, we should put ourselves and our country before anyone else. So, yes I do think we should have nuked Japan if it meant saving us in the long run. Even though it did a lot of damage and killed many people, it saved a lot of American lives.
I don't know if I would say that they needed to be nuked, but I would say that something big needed to be done for the purpose of ending the war as soon as possible. I don't think I would of used a atomic bomb but I defitently would of used something big enough for them to relize that America is not a force to be reckoned with.
No, because I don't think we want any more wars than this country has to have. I think we should just leave things alone with them. No, because I do feel like america has rights to stand up for itself and we can't do that is we did something to cause war.
I can agree that we needed to end the war as soos as possible. But all the innocent people that died puts a bad feeling into a lot of Americans that thought we shouldn't have bombed them. We needed to do something big but maybe we should have looked into other ideas or strategised a llittle more.
I agree the war needed to be ended soon but yes all of the innocent people that died made people think the nuke over. If though we did not bomb them they would have attack America many more times and would have had supported Germany.
I think that nobody needed to be nuked, however I would rather Japan be nuked than the US did. However, it did end up saving many americans lives so I think it ended up being ok that US nuked them. So, I would not want to change Americas actions on Japan.
I agree with you because I feel nukes would have been very overkill but we needed to take care of Japan as quickly as we could. Just using regular bombs would have costed more and took even longer and people and planes could have been shot down.
I believe that it should have just ended the war right then, and they do, but do I believe that it was still not right for the US to do it, yes. I honestly don't think that I would want to change it because as you said it saved lives, and if the war went on longer it could have turned out differently and it might not have been for the better of our country.
I agree it ended the war also that it not good was many innocent people that died. I think though that it was needed to help end the war and make Japan surrender. I wish though that there was another place that we could have bombed to make them surrender.
