A new study shows that some companies that give out student loans might not be fair to colored people. Seth Frotman started the student borrower protection center. and they are trying to make student loans fair to all people. The student borrower protection center found out that students who go to a 2 year community college pay more interest then a student that goes to a 4 year college. Even though the students have the same credits history the students going to a 4 year had less interest.

Do you think that this protection center will be succesful in the future, and why?

Yes, I think that they will be succesful since all students want to pay the same instead of being charged more for their skin color or the school they go to.

How do you think the students that get charged more interest feel about this protection center?

I think they are gonna push for it to be a thing so they all pay the same.

  • Good story choice but overall, your summary is brief. Be sure to capitalize ky words in your title and reply to pretty much everyone with only two pages of comments. This should have been posted on Monday. -5 late

  • yes because i just feel like the place you are going or if its a better school it shouldnt be more mony for loan or somthing. they will love it because it is saving them money and so that theye hve more money to spend on food and things becasue collage can be tough

  • I think that the protection center will be succesful in the future because it will make things more fair and many people will like the idea because price shouldnt change up or down because of skin color. I think they charge more for interest to make it the same total price as a 4 year so they can still make alot of money being a 2 year campus.

  • I think that the college system of lending and high interest rates is currently horrible and will probably just continue to get worse as time wears on. Its gonna get to a point where basically the entire workforce is each gonna have their own huge debt and we will probably go through another recession or even another economic depression within the next generation.

  • Yes, I feel like in the future, if this continues to go on, this will help equality throughout the economy and it would help people of color be more accepted. I feel like, if it hits big, it would cause some more equality through US citizens who still need to go to college.

  • I thik that it would be sucessful because most people want to pay less for whatever they can. Im sure that the students that have gotten charged more for intrest would want the protection because they are payng more money becuase of the color of their skin or becasue of the choice of school they go to.

  • Yes, they should all be payed equally no matter skin color or school. I wouldn't want to pay more just because of going to a different school. I can't see them liking it, if I were them I would see it as unfair. I agree, they might try to push for it to be all the same pay.

  • It kinda seems it would be successful, but I do think the interest rates between a 4-year college to a 2-year college should be at least minimum and same. I bet they are trying to find ways to be still in the school like finding more than one job. I think they feel like they are overwhelmed with interest fees, scared they might be kicked out due to not paying for them.

    • I agree with you that the 4 year and 2 year colleges should have the minimum interest and the same cost. I agree that the students being charged more are stressed and are probabaly working any time they can.

  • I do think so because with this new data hopefully, they can push for a change. In the future, I hope interest rates loans will be the same for students who attend four-year colleges versus two-year colleges. I think they will love it and appreciate it very much because they will be saving money.
