As most of you probably have heard through social media or the news, Russia seems to be on the edge of attacking Ukraine. Most people are confused by this which leaves us with the question: Why?
Well, to start off Russia is not admitting to any allegations of leading an attack on Ukraine. Although Russia's leader, Vladimir Putin, denies it, there are still 130,000 of Russia’s troops surrounding the Ukraine border. So, the question comes up, Why? Well, no one can really answer it yet for sure. However, there are many conspiracies and ideas of what could be the cause of all this. Many people believe that Russia wants to “Rebuild a Russian sphere of influence.” Russia could be trying to bring back former soviet republics.
People suspect that Russia may be choosing now to invade because they think Ukraine will not have support from the United States. They think the U.S. will not back them up because president Biden pledged to bring us out of war (In Afghanistan) and not bring the U.S. into another war.
Vladimir Putin is demanding things from the Nato (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) before he will end the standoff on Ukraine’s border. He requests for Nato to not accept Ukraine into the organization along with a few others for the former Soviet republic.

Good but tough topic choice. There is a lot that goes ingo this topic so it is hard to do it justice in a couiple of paragraphs. Also be sure to reply back a few more times as well on three different days.
As I went toad your grade into Powerschool, I saw that you had already been a forum post leader this quarter. I will add this as extra credit.
i dont think that russia will attack ukraine because im sure nato will back ukraine if russia does decide to invade. there is also the chance that the US would help ukraine in the war.
I think there is a chance Russia will attack Ukraine. I think Russia should be careful and rethink things before going into war. It would involve United States and that would suck since we just got out of a war in August.
I do not think that Russia will invaide Ukraine because it is just too much of a stir in the pot at this point their would be so many countries that would go after Russia and most likely cut trades and deal with Russia and it would be a bad buissness move for them.
I think they just like keep pressure on the Ukraine but not going to attack or start a war because Russia already sent troops back from the border but there is still a chance. The Nato will probably not accept Putin's requests.
In my opinion and based on the facts that you listed, I think that there is a possibility of Russia attacking Ukraine and the United States could be there and it could unfortunately cause a war. And I don't think that Nato is going to agree to Russia terms. In my opinion Russia should definitely reconsider their action because if they attack Ukraine, The U.S is most likely to be there.
Russia's defense for their annexation of Crimea and now their mobilization of troops is this; Russia sees Ukraine as her younger brother, much alike how the U.S. views Canada. They speak languages that are similar, they follow customs that are similar, and have cultures that are very much alike. Putin also love the old Soviet Bloc idea.
I think Russia is going to attack Ukraine and the US will be there so a war is going to be created. I don't think Nato is going to agree with Putin's term. I think Russia should back up and reconsider their ideas considering that the US is going to defend Ukraine. I think it will be a bad idea to attack Ukraine.
I completely agree with you on this response. I think Russia is going to attack Ukraine. I also agree how you said it will start a war. I feel like other countries might be pulled into this. This could just lead to a much bigger war. I also agree how you said it's a bad idea for Russia to attack.
I think Russia is going to follow through with the invasion of Ukraine. Russia has always been out to prove their power to the world, and this is no exception. NATO is going to have a tough time trying to keep everyone together once the attacks commence.
