I get really upset when I see a commercial on a medication because they really don't explain all the bad things about them. My grandpa almost died from Lorazepam and another medication which was given to him at Creighton and made his heart stop. Lorazepam, with a lot of other medications, are still being marketed on T.V. and no one is doing anything. Medications can be horrible to people, even kill them and we just sit here and do nothing about it. Maybe it's just because I've had a personal experience..but it's definetly not right.. What do you think?

I think it is not that big of a deal as long as you read it carefully and talk to your dostor about ALL the bad things that might happen but most people dont do that I know I wouldnt.
Yeah, I don't think it's right either. I guess the new birth control, Yazz or whatever has like serious side effects, like death. They don't say anything about that in the commericals for it.
I think if they are going to advertise medications they should have to advertise them honestly. They focus on what good things could happen but not the sometimes deadly side effects.
I agree. They don't fully cover all the risks in medicine commercials and definatly should because other wise they could get sued so they should probably fix that.
I think there horrible. Why advertise these medications, don't make them if they don't work! The other day I was watching TV and I crossed a commercial that had the background of CNN, so it looked like the medicine was legit..not just a commercial. So, when I looked it says that "(Medicine) helps" but it wasn't CNN, it was only a commercial. Almost tricked meh.
It's not right, a lot of the times the risks outweigh the benefits making the medication useless. What are you gonna care about your sleep at night if your throat closed up from your pills.
I don't really know. Its not the commercials fault. Its a law, they have to say the side affects and what could happen if you were to take the medication. And yes they do always say check with your doctor to see if this medication is right for you. Its the doctors fault if it was wrong.
I agree(: If you really need medication, go to a professional doctor, not something off of the tv. that doesn't give you like any information about the product. You don't even know if it could really work, and it might give you some side affect that you don't even know about.
