Weird Flex but Okay

Memes and trendy sayings. They change constantly, but they are so funny and relatable! Such as the two newest ones like "Let’s Go Get This Bread" and " Weird Flex but Okay". Many older generations think these memes and saying are ridiculous and dumb, but the young people think these are saying and we use them for our slang terms. Most people don’t understand what they mean because we all have different interpretation. So, we are going to explain them. Let’s go get this bread means let’s go get these gains or grab the dub, and weird flex but okay means something weird someone says and you kind of just roll with it.

 Let's Get This Bread meme

1)Why do you think these terms are so popular, and how do you use them?

I think its popular because of all the memes that can come out of them such as the picture above! I only use weird flex but okay because me and my friends say a lot of random and weird things to each other and we kinda just go with it.

2)If you were an older generation and your grand kid said this would you ask about it or just ignore, explain your answer.

I would most likely as cause I would be like what the heck did he say, but I would try to use it in context to be funny with my grandkids or just the younger generation in general!

    • I feel like a lot of people don't really know what the slang terms mean but still use them, but people think it's funny when they use it wrong. Social media really does glorify it! I feel like I would try to partake in the fun and the sayings.

  • I think that memes and trendy sayings become popular very fast. Once one person says it and someone else thinks it's funny, there is no stopping it from going around. Young people use them all the time. I know most grandparents think what the heck when they hear them, but some grandparents are cool and use them too.

  • maybe a popular or famous person "invented" these terms so fans and followers on social media started to use it and then people thought it was funny or trendy so they wanted to use it too

I think I would ask about it because I would want to know what my grandkids are talking about and it's never bad to learn new thngs even if you're already older

  • These terms are popular because they're hilarious, but I don't use them. I just like to see them, not repeat them. Memes are online for me, and I'd rather not say weird stuff in public. I don't really keep up all that well with the current memes, but messing around using them with my brother is fun.

I'd probably giggle at the randomness of it, and look it up just to make sure it was appropriate. I have no problem with them saying dumb things that just make people laugh.

    • Totally understandable that you feel weird saying these in public! I also love memes and seeing them! I think it's funny when old people do recent trends too, becasue like you wouldn't expect them to hop on that new trend.

  • I don't understand the current culture. It makes no sense and honestly lowers the IQ of the whole street when something like that comes out of someones mouth. If I was older I would still ahve the same view of it. I'd tell my grandchild to not say it because they can use plenty of other intellectual words from their vocabulary.

  • I think that they're popular because thy're funny and relatable. I use them as a joke to my friends. I think if my grandkids said something like this I would ask and honestly want to be more informed and try and use them in a funny way.

  • I think they're popular because it starts on the internet, then gets spread everywhere and people see them and use them, because they relate or think it is funny. I personally do not say any thing like those. If I was an older generation, I would probably just ignore it, even if I was confused.

  • Well frankly I don't talk like this. I've never used "Let's get this bread" but thats because I'm not in any sports. I don't use "ducks" I've never heard anything like that and I dont know what it means. I have use "I'm on the grind" because I've heard about it and I liked saying it because I work out. I've never heard "weird flex but okay" until now. But, I like it so I will use it.

  • I think that we all love to have fun and to relate to, and frankly theres so many things like memes that you can see just to make your day. I usually see them on twitter, and just get a good laugh out of it. I feel like older generations get mad at the things we do because its not what they did when they were kids. i think it will always happen and they just have to accept it.
