Despite the predictions of most analysts, this weekend didn't go so well at the box office. The Lion King did come out on top, with most saying at best it would get fourth or fifth, holding over so well ($21.9 million dollars) that some have considered it only the beginning of an onslaught of 3-D releases (Titanic, Star Wars, and Top Gun in 3D are already on the way). In second place, a tough battle between Moneyball and Dolphin Tale, but Moneyball came out on top with $19.5 million dollars, and Dolphin Tale only had $400 thousand dollars less. Both Abduction and Killer Elite had a rough opening, as predicted, but Lautner's Abduction only scored $10.9 million dollars, and Killer Elite only scored a $9.3 million dollars. That is all for this weekend update.
