Democrat Elizabeth Warren offers free tuition at all public colleges which causes a decrease of about 50,000 dollars of student debt. But, it's for Americans who household makes less than 100,000 a year. Warren explains how her proposal is designed "to confront a recent surge in student loans." Warren states that "the first step in addressing this crisis is to deal head-on with the outstanding debt that is weighing down millions of families and should never have been required in the first place." Nbc News.com then says that "much of the 2020 Democratic presidential field has already signed onto [the] plans." Yes, I do believe that some people would take advantage of it and maybe even quit their jobs just to get under the 100,000 mark. Taxes will be raised and people will fight about how free college isn't free to those who have to pay and going into debt. An example is like a medical student owes like $40,000 and still has either a family to support which leads to many bills and some people just can't keep up.

  1. If you were in college or a graduate from college that is in debt, would you support Warrens plan?

Yes, it would take away an extreme amount of stress put on me and my family. I  would still work as hard in what I do and wouldn't take the school for granted. Some people might find a way to get under that 100,00 mark, which is why I don't really support it.

  1. If you were to re-word her plan in any way how would you do that?

I wouldn't support it at all but if I were to I would say that taking away student debt for everyone as long as your going to work just as hard and maybe not pay for all of it due to the school or university struggling to pay the staff and taxes going up.

  • Good topic choice! I do think your summary could be stronger. Your fist sentence implies that Warren is doing this now and not her plan. You also use a lot of quotes. Summarize it all into your own words. All of your replies were done on one day. Three days is required.

  • It would be nice to ve avle to be relieved of some of the debt that you get as a student in college, but I wouldn't just support her for just this one idea. I think it should be open to more people.

    • Yes, I totally agree with you. Some much stress can lead to someone down the wrong path and maybe start cheating on his or hers assignments. Being in student debt is not the most exciting thing in the world. Nobody likes to be in debt.

  • First of all anyone would want to be debt free if that was an option but it is  not as easy as what one might think. All the schools around the country would have a really hard time paying their teachers aswell as paying of taxes.

    • Yes, and that's the bright side out of this. But, if you just think about how hard it's going to be for some people to pay taxes then you will never see how many people are benefiting from it.

  • This could go both ways because yes everyone wants free college but than will taxes go up for everyone to because how else will you pay for everyone to go to college. But I think it would be good because I don't wanna pay for college and it will help me big time for life I just wanna know how she will do that.

    • Yes that is totally understandable. Most people can't just pay the full amount right away. Infact that's more rare then ever. Students get put in debt causing stress and with this plan it would take away most of that stress.

  • I think that Warrens plan are giong to be controversal. Free college is always going to be a good debate. I think that Warrens plans could help many students who are attending college and even possibly help more kids attend college. I think that plans like these take a lot of time to plan and map out so you know they will be successful.

    • Yes, and in that time period we could experiment with it and set up a plan that is well thought out, which I'm sure that will happen considering how many people are going to be effected from this plan in good and bad ways.

  • Yes, I would support her plan for college. I would not be as stressed and neither would my family about the money I would have to come up with. I like her plan although, there is many cons to it and I do not want people taking advantage of the offer.
