in a court session on Friday Volkswagon described a scene from a Netflix seieres called "Diry Money" where lawyer Mike Melkerson talks about the revelation that Volkswagon used monkeys to test the effects of diesel fumes and referse to the days of the Holocaust saying ""One cannot help to think back throughout history of another series of events involving individuals being gassed by a person who was actually at the opening of the very first Volkswagen factory" (money.cnn.com). This is what Volkswagon had staded according to the court documentation. Because of this, Volkswagon wants the trial to be delayed believing that this will unfairly sway jurors syaing that they would be unable to have a fair trial in an atmosphere in which pretrial publicity has connected it to the Nazi's doings during world war II.
another case in which someone is compared to despicable people from the past. will this ever stop?

what are your thoughts on this? was this justified or is this Volkswagon's attempt to get out of a trial?

I guess I'm not sure if it will ever stop. That is kind of a hard question to answer because it is a future thing that is very hard to predict.
I think VW is correct and that they should push the trial back because I feel the audience will be very biased because of Melkerson's recent comments about the company comparing them to Hitler. I don't think they're attempting to get out of a trial since they clearly said they just want it delayed.
