The Viking Sky Cruise Ship with over 1,300 poeple were stranded on the Cruise ship. The Cruise ship was heading to Stavanger in Southern Norway. The Cruise ship had engine trouble and low oil levels during that time water was gushing into the ship over 470 passagers was taking out by the rescue helicopters when the captain called in for help. It took days to get to get all 470 passagers out people had to stay in stairwells on life jackets because the people could not go into their room’s because of the room’s getting filled up with water. There were five helicopters used to lift people off the Viking Sky Cruise Ship. The mechanics on the ship got one of the engines to work. The ship traveled to Norwegian Port with nearly 900 people and crew members still on the ship.
1. Do you think that if the mechanics did not get one of the engines to work would the cruise ship have sunck.
My opinion is that it probably world becuse there was water gushing.
How many days would it have taken to get all 1,300 people off the Cruise ship.
It would have probably taken a week if it took days to get 470 passagers off.

Good job replying Devin! I do think your questions could be stronger.
i think that if the mechanics didn't get one of the engines to work that the ship definitly would have sunk because it was filling with water and the ship wasn't moving anywhere.
2 - It would probably taken a good amount of time to get all the people off of the ship. I can't imagine how much money was put into this mishap, seeing how the company had to pay to get everyone off, had to most likely pay all the passengers back, and will probably have to face legal issues.
I think the mechanics saved the ship and many of the people on the ship. If they would not have been there, the ship would have consumed too much water and sunk which would have killed a bunch of people. I would assume it takes a lot of time to get 1,300 people off a ship, especially since some of the people were in weird places to escape the water.
1 - Yes, I think that if the mechanics didn't get the engine to work, it would have eventually filled up with water and sank. I optimistic to say that all the passangers would be off the ship at that point. But, you never know. It all depends on how fast the water was taking over the ship I guess.
I believe that the mechanics that got the engines to work, if they had not been there, the cruise ship would have most likely sunk. I think that If it took days for 470 people to get removed from the ship, it would take a week or two to get 1,300 people off, depending on the amount of people helping the situation.
I believe that the cruise line would of sunk if the mechanics didn't get the one engine running and get nearly 900 people and crew to safety. If it took the helicopters days to get the 470 passengers I believe it could of taken weeks to get the rest off.
I think yes there was a definite possibilty of the ship sinking. An engine has a big role in making sure ships run and don't sink. it I think it would of taken probably a week or even maybe more to get all 1,300 people off. Depending on how many helocopters show up at once.
If the engine wouldn't have worked, who knows what could have happened. They probably wouldn't have got to where they ended up and san sank. I am not sure how long it would have taken to get all passengers off, but i am guessing it would have taken weeks, if not months.
1.) If they didn't get an engine to work the cruise ship most likely would have sunk due to the water flowing into the ship and the fact that it was stuck in it's position, meaning without that engine the ship would not have been able to go anywhere at all.
2.) It would most likely take 4-12 days to get all 1,300 people off of the Cruise ship.
