The Venezuelan president (Nicolás Maduro), had denied the aid from the US, Colombia, and other countries; imported from the western border with Colombia. Venezuela is currently going through a crisis, and the Venezuelan president does not want to accept it. Maduro does not want to accept this aid because it was sent by opposition leaders trying to “force him out of power.” On wednesday february 6th, Maduro ordered troops to block the Tienditas International Bridge. Troops set up two shipping containers and a fuel tanker to block the way. “With this show of humanitarian aid they are trying to send a message: ‘Venezuela has to go begging to the world!’ And Venezuela will not beg for anything from anyone in this world,” and "we are not beggars" Maduro said on Monday. The people of venezuela are starving and many are fleeing the country to find aid for themselves.
Why do you think the government is not letting the aid in?
I think the country is not as advanced as others, and are trying to improve themselves although their chances on doing so are very slim. Their way of life is different than our's so they might be stuck on old believings that they need to provide for themselves, and that getting aid from others make them look weak.
Do you think Venezuela should let the aid in?
YES! The Venezuelan people desperately need it, and without it their chances of survival are not high. Although it might make them seem like they need to rely on others to provide for them, they would at least avoid a crisis that might lead to the country's downfall.

1. I think they aren't letting aid in because they don't think they need it. They are probably trying to pretend that everything is fine.
2. Yes because their people are fleeing to get aid anyway. It would just make the situation easier for everyone even if they don't want to admit it.
Venezuela wants to show strength and not humiliate themselves by accepting help from the world. It appears that "not accepting help" had lead them into the crisis in the first place. I think that it is unwise to not acccept the help and that Maduro is speaking for his people poorly. Venezuela should accept aid from other countries to get out of the crisis other than worrying about world-wide social status.
I think Maduro is trying the send a message but he is only hurting his people. This is the extreme reality of socialism and is scary considering the socialist wave gaining movement in the US. Yes, they should let the aid in, people are desperately scavaging for anything to eat.
