For this week's "learning opportunity", I would like you to watch this video documentary on how Donald Trump won the 2016 election. It's a very interesting election in US History and one that any of youm remember well. Please share your thoughts and opinions on the election and on the video below.
Here is a Google Drive link if the Youtube video doesn't work for you.
Other things you can do:
--I will leave the previous weeks learning opportunities open. Feel free to read and reply to them if you haven't already.
--Watch a WWII movie or documentary(or read a book on WWII).
--I will allow CWI/USH students to add their own current event stories they would like to discuss on the forum. Since I can't grade anything, all personal comments will not count towards your official froum post count during this time. I think it's important to keep up with the events of the world.
--Feel free to take advantage of the extra credit opportunities I allow for(30 point max per quarter). I officially can't accept extra credit during the break, but you can stockpile them for when you come back. And if we don't come back, keep it for next year in US/World History/CWI(if you have me).
--I am available via email pretty much all day, including weekends. I will also be available in the chat room on my website whenever I am on my website. Feel free to ask questions there as well.

I do not really understand politics that well, but what I could tell from this election was that it seemed very unproffesional. Like in all of the debates in the elections the competitors will throw out mean comments about one another, but what was dished out between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton was very slandering and just awful. And maybe that's how the debates are supposed to go where you have to bash another candidate to get your point across, but the election overall seemed very dirty in my opinion and should have focused more so on the candidates' plan for running the country instead of past scandals. However, I do also see how they were important to address in order to show all voters what type of person they were really electing.
There is a term that is used for all the nastiness that takes place in elections-mudslinging. I have never seen mudslinging as bad as in the 2016 election. It will go down as one of the craziest elections in US History for better or worse.
Thanks for your comments Ania!
