On Thursday, an American woman was charged of human trafficing after trying to smuggle a 6 day old infant out of the Philippines. At a press conference held by the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). International Airport Investigation Division chief Manual Dimaano said that Jennifer Talbot, a 43-year-old originally from Ohio, had used a sling bag to try and hide the baby while passing through immigration, she did not provide any documentaion for the child. After passing through immigration, Talbot removed the baby from the bag and carried it when trying to board her Delta Airlines flight, and was stopped and Philippines authorities were contacted when Talbot couldn't provide any documentation for the infant. Reporters discovered that Talbot was claimed to be the child's aunt. Police have not found the child's father and Talbot allegedly told reporters that the infant's mother was an unmarried single parent but she would not tell police if the she had stole or was given the child. Talbot has been charges with a violation of the Anti-trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

1. Should she be charged with kidnapping?
Answer: Yes, because from what we know she did not have legal documents to take the baby.
2. If convivted, should she be charged in both the Philippines and the United States or just the Philippines?
Answer: Yes I think so because she kidnapped the baby from the mother and was bringing an undocumented child into the United States.

I think that she should be charged with kidnapping because she had no legal documents on the baby's birth. I think she should just be charged in the philippines because that is where it happened. They didn't catch her in the U.S. trying to smuggle the child they found her in the Philippines trying to smuggle the child.
I think she should be charged with kidnapping because she had no documents for the baby and the fact that she was trying to hide it makes her look way more guilty. I also think she should be charged in both the USA and Philippines because she was commiting the crime in both countries.
Yes I think that she should be charged with human traffiking be cause she couldn't tell who's child it was so she should probably also be charged with kidnapping if she still cant put forth any evidence she didn't do it. No I dont think that she should be charged in both countries. It will already be on her record so way should she serve the same punishment twice.
Yes, I agree. She should be convicted, because she had no legal documentation that she could take the baby. I also agree with you and think that she should be convicted of the crime in both countries because she took the baby from the Philippines and tried to take the undocumented child into the U.S., which is illegal.
Yes I agree with you. She doesn't have any evidence that would prove she didn't kidnap the child, therefore she should be charged. She seems to be acting suspious because she would tell officals if the child was stolen or not. And I do think that she should be changed in both countries because as of right now she has comitted crimes in both.
Yes, If she was "given" the baby she needs legal papers saying the baby is under her care. Also, it is pretty sketchy that she would take a 6 day old baby to anohter country, it sounds like she just wanted to flee and take the baby.
Yes, I agree. She should be charged in both because she was doing illigal actions in both countries.
1.) Yes, because from what we know she did not have the proper documentation to take care of the baby or anything of the sort.
2.) I think she should be charged by both because she was trying to bring an illegally acquired baby into the U.S. where it isn't documented as a U.S. citizen and she has no documentation of being the rightful caretaker of the baby.
Yes she should be charged with kidnapping. She took the child away from the care of its parents. She should be charged in both countries because she stole the child from the Phillipenes. When she was coming into the United States the baby would have been undocumented and probably would have eventually been deported.
I agree with both of your answers, taking a baby with no documentation that says that you were adopting it or that the mother was giving it to you should be considered as kidnapping and if she would have gotten away with it, when she got back to the United States and went through customs she most likely woud have gotten caught and the baby would have gotten deported.
