Today at 9:55 pm PT US Airways' last flight will depart from San Francisco to Philadelphia.
US Airways, which will be a part of American Airlines in the future, honored it's last flight with the name 1939 - the year the airline was founded.
US Airways announced in 2013 that they will work with American Airlines in the future and in May 2015 the final decision of putting both Airlines together as one was made.
Since a lot of people wanted to be a part of this historical event, the flight had been almost sold out in July.

My opinion:
I think it's sad that such a big airline has to shut down, especially after I was on one of their flights 2 months ago when I came to the US. It is strange to know that such a big company that so many people know and have flown with before can be bankrupt so fast and easily.

Well, I don't think that it would make it harder to fly around America, I actually believe that it would make it way easier as there will be one big company instead of two, so you don't get confused.
I think that this is a very big deal that this airline will be gone in the future because a lot of people fly on that airline including me.

I have never flown in a plane before but I do know that US Airlines will not be gone. American Airlines will use the power gained from US Airlines to make a presence unlike any other in the flying industry. I always thought this business venture would be stopped because of the chance of a monopoly.

Exactly! It is a huge deal, but the whole airline won't be shut down as American Airlines will continue with them, which might bring changes in the way we use planes.
