United States debt.

The United States debt as of when this was typed is 28.4 trillion dollars and increasing by the second. This is a very large amount of money to be in debt. 28.4 trillion is equal to about 86 thousand per person. Something needs to be done about the debt before it becomes a serious problem.

The reason that the United States is in such debt is because it is spending more than it is making. The United States makes 3.42 trillion dollars as of 2020. This sounds like a lot until you realize that they are spending 6.55 trillion dollars. This means they are almost spending twice what they make which can only mean that they are going further into debt fast.

I think that it is very important that we do something about the national debt because it directly affects the United States future. I think that the United States should definitely look closer at what they are spending their money on. I also think that they should more closely watch how much money they are spending on things. The United States should definitely figure out a way to spend less than they make.

What do you think of the United States debt?

Do you think that the United States should do something about it?

If so, what do you think the United States should do?

  • Good topic choice(even though another student did it as well) Carson! I do think your summary is brief for a topic as big as this so just be sure to expand a bit more next time.

  • I think that the US is going to have debt no matter what cause they keep spending money on things we don't need or stupid things. I think that the US should do something about it but they probly wont. They should probly spend wiser and not give the government raises.

  • I do believe that the United States is in a world of hurt when it comes to our economic standpoint.  I believe that we need to do something about it before it becomes a bigger problem.  However, I'm not sure what we can do about it.  There is professionals that do that for a living.  I do believe that we need to fix this problem though.

  •  I think that United States debt is a very big problem. I think that we should try to do something to fix it but there is no great ways that can fix it right away. I think maybe the united states should have done a little bit less for the stimulus check and maybe pay unemployed people less.

    • I agree because, the United States right now is spending large amounts of money on things like unemployment checks that are just not necessary becuase buisnesses all around are hiering. They also spend lots of money on stimulus checks wich are not necessary anymore.

  • I think the United States is way to far in debt and should start paying it back soon before it gets even worse. The main way to start paying off United States debt is to raise taxes which no americans want so if they do try to pay off debt they will make a lot of people mad.

  • I think that we should only be spending as much as we make or even less so that the country can save money for emergencies.  This debt could effect our country negativly in the future. We should defenently be more careful about what we spend our money on.

    • I agree because, I think that it is a very dumb idea to spend more than you can make because all it does is put you in further debt. I think that the United States needs to start thinking about how much they make and spend on things that might not always be necessary.

  • I think that our countries on the dumber side of spending more than you make. It's kind of crazy if you think that each US citizen is 86,000 dollars indebted to the government just so they can go spend it on something that won't benefit us.

  • I think that the government should at least help some people with their debt. Like the people who make less than a living wage, like giving them food and other living necessities and letting them spend their paycheck on their bills instead. I doubt we'll ever get to be able to pay all of our debt off fully, unless maybe if they raise the minimum wage.
