Ukraine Truce Turns Deadly

In Ukraine, a CNN cameraman found himself in the middle of a gunbattle. He was on the 10th floor of a hotel looking outside at protesters ramming into a line of police. Then snipers started firing at the protesters and police. The cameraman then ran down to the lobby avoiding bullets passing through the walls and windows. He found thirteen bodies total in the lobby hanging on to their lives. This happened just hours after the Ukrainian Government declared a truce in the fighting. Obviously this truce did not hold.

I think this is sad that snipers were opening fire upon a crowd of unarmed citizens. I think the cameraman is lucky that he did not get hit by a stray bullet.

What would you have done in that situation with bullets flying everywhere? Would you have gone down to lobby?

  • Well done Kyle!

  • I probably would of stayed right where I was

  • I probably would've hid i would have ran into the middle of it.

    • So would you have hid or ran into the middle of it?

      • no i meant i wouldnt i just didnt type that word

  • I think that Ukraine has a lot of problems right now. I definitely think that it is sad that snipers would open fire on unarmed people.

  • I think human instinc would be to run. Weather or not I would run to the lobby is a different question. I guess I would run to the opposite side of the building, not the lobby.

    • I agree, I would have ran, but I think I would have ran to the highest floor and hid or found a good place to hide where I wouldn't get hit by any stray bullets.

  • I would not have gone down to the lobby. I think the situation in the Ukraine is very sad.

  • I think I would have stayed on the 10th floor, away from the streets. I would  definitely not have gone down to the lobby where all the bullets were being shot.
