In Birmingham, Alabama played host to one of the strangest 2nd half visuals, potentially ever in NCAA Basketball history. Everybody goes into sporting events hoping that at some point there is a little bit of a scuffle, especially when the team you are rooting for is getting blown out. Since I am an Iowa State fan that is a lot. In this sporting event on January 26, 2017 a mass ejection took place on the basketball court between the UAB Blazers and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. With 6 minutes to go in the second half, two players were going at it. Then in the blink of an eye it turned into a benches clearing brawl on the court. When the fight was over the Bulldogs were left with only 4 eligible players and 1 coach for the final six minutes of the game; with the Blazers winning 79-70.
Questions:
Are ejections necessary in collegiate sports?
Should the competition be forfeited if you cannot have a complete team to compete with?
My Thoughts:
Even though some college athletes are still teenagers and teenagers and young adults are known to make mistakes I believe that ejections are of course warranted. I think that if the reason why the team is low on players is because of ejections, then the game should be forfeited.

Good topic but all of your comments were done today. You should comment three different days. You are quite lucky that I didn't grade this before school like I do sometimes.
I don't believe that ejections are necessary because if you do something that deserves more than one penalty you should be removed before something happens. Now if you have only a few players left because the rest were ejected you should just forfeit because you obviously are not doing something right that most of your team is getting penalized.
I think ejections are definitely necessary in collegiate sports, some sort of punishment is needed if a brawl breaks out in college and the NCAA can't fine players. I don't think the competition should be forfeited as long as both teams are ok with continuing to play the game.
I agree and like how you said that the NCAA cannot fine its players.
I think they are definitely necessary in case a player has to big of temper. I don't think the competition should be forfeited if they have at least 4 players unless the team chooses too.
I think that if the players get low on players because of ejections they should be forced to forfeit the game.
I think that ejections are definitely needed to keep the players from totally beating each other to death. Tempers flare in competitive sports and if there was no penalty for fighting I think there would be a lot more fighting. I think the competition should be forfeited because there isn't enough players to compete.
I agree that you do like to see some fights in sports. I think if the fights are called for, then they are okay. If someone is try to do "illegal" stuff to me during the game, I would get pretty mad. I think ejections are very important. In a perfect world, no one should be fighting each other. That is why we have ejections because we are not in a perfect world.
I think players need to be more grateful they can play and should take there place seriously. Ejections are necessary to keep people following rules and if enough are ejected the other team should win by forfeit.
They did fallow the rules of the game I think that they should have been sent out of the game because it is still unsportsmen like conduct. Again they rules i believe do say that you you do not have enough players to play you are DQed
