Two Free Years of Community College

There has been discussion by president Obama to have two free years of community college. Five hundred percent is the number of collages that have raised there price of tuition since 1985. Wages have increased by 140% which means the college tuition should be around twenty thousand dollars but instead it is fifty thousand. In 2012 there was 3 million unfilled jobs because there was not enough people with the right education to fill them.

What would you do if you could have a change to go to a community college for two free years?

  • Great topic choice! Be sure to hyperlink correctly and comment more regularly. Your summary could also have been written better. The second sentence is wrong based on what you wrote. College costs have risen 500%.

  • I that two free years for a community college is really good but something that I found wrong about colleges is that we put so much time and effort into getting our diploma. They once we finally achieve that goal we have a life time of student loans to pay off. So when you can get a good job and start living a good life you always have student loans dragging you down.

  • I think that way more people would go to college if this happened. I think it'd be nice to get to have two years free, college is expensive.

  • Two free years would be nice but someone still has to pay. I know for a fact that teachers wont just work for free, so that means its coming out of the tax payers wallets. Its a good idea but it just cant happen because people who aren't attending the college will pay taxes so people that do will go for free.

    • Yeah but it is as if you parents are paying for your college every year instead of a whole bunch a month and when you have a job in high school you can save and use all that money for a house right after college.

  • It would be awesome ! Prices for colleges are ridiculous in the United States. I would study as many classes as I can  in two years even if it's not what I want to do later, just to have more education and then study for my career choice.

  • I think it would help those who want to go to college that are unable to but some people are just not meant to go to college. I would still go to a four year college even if a community college was free.

  • I think it would be awesome if you could do that. The prices right now are ridiculous. I think if this happened, almost everyone would go to college.

  • I would definitely go to the community college especially to get a lot of the core classes needed to get a degree done. Then I'd transfer to a university and take more classes specific to my career choice

  • I would make sure I go all out with my education now so I could be able to excel in the future. College is a majorly important part of a person's life education-wise, and I believe paying for college is more difficult than actually participating in college classes. Money is hard to come by nowadays without an exceptional education, and how are you going to make money for college, if you can't even afford to make in INTO college.
