Two cranes wre toppled at the Hard Rock hotel in New Orleans. They came tumbling down at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. 3 people were killed and 30 were injured only finding 1 of the dead bodies. One of the fallen cranes damaged a sewer line. They are still trying to remove the last 2 victims from the buildings debris. They say in the article, "we're going to have to pull a lot of debris that's hanging overhead to get to them." From this explosion a giant cloud of dust was made, and when this happened more than 100 construction workers were on the site.    Click Here to read more

1. What do you think happened to the construction workers that were on the site and do you think this supprised them?

I think that they were very supprised because I doubt that they think that anyone would do this to them. I think that the construction workers are okay maybe some are injured however from the debris.

2. Who do you think did this and why?

I think some sort of terrorist organization did this to get back at America for something that we did.

  • Overall good job. Your story choice wasn't good as it is an accident story. Also be sure to capitalize key words in your title.

  • I think that the ones that were close enough to the cranes were harmed by the explosion or crushed by falling rubal or the cranes them sleves and also maby aslo blinded by the cloud of dust for a short period of time. I dont that nessacerly someone did it it could have just been an accident but if someone did it it was porbelly someone who just wanted to cause mass destruction so they decided to blow up these cranes knowing they would come crashing down and casuing moe damage

  • I agree they were most likely surprised and very scared, most are probably ok but I'm guessing they probably have some minor injuries other than the ones who were seriously injured or killed. I think it was probably just an error in the design of the building or it could have possibly been done by someone.

    • I would agree had I not made a mistake and looked over the article again.

    • I agree however because I looked it over again I am pretty sure that it was planned to happen.

  • I think that a lot of them were injuried and were unable to move. I do think this accident suprised them. I don't think this was caused by a person. I think that this was simply and accident. This could have happened because of the weather or some kind of mechanical failure.

    • I agree with you however I looked back over it and I think it was planned to happen.

  • I dont think that this suprised them at all because CBS news stated that,"Officials announced plans to bring down the structures in a controlled demolition." They had buckets of small explosives that went up and they put them in key locations of the cranes to make them weak in certian spots and then, they would set off the explosives and by that, controling the places they crashed. I believe that the people in charge of the building were in charge of this crash because of what CBS had stated.

    • I agree with you I just looked at that again and found that they did indeed plan to bring down the structures in a controlled demolition. However I looked at CNN and you looked at CBS but I think that what you said about the demolition is probably more likely than a terrorist attack.

  • I'm sure many if not all of the construction workers were surprised, and I bet many of them were scared as well. I'm not sure who did this, or if it was even terrorists that did it.  Did the article say that the explosion happened from a bomb? Maybe it could have just been a machine failure, or possibly a gasoline fire lead to a bigger explosion.
