Tropical storm Humberto

Another storm is boiling near the Bahamas moving farther away from the Bahamas but becoming stronger daily. It is about 210 miles north of Great Abaco island and about 170 miles east of Cape Canaveral. The maximum sustrained winds are about 70 miles per hour and the storm is moving at 6 miles per hour. It is predicted to become a hurricane Sunday night due to it continuously getting stronger. The storm is predicted to continue moving away from the Bahamas and remain offshore of Florida's east coast. The storm is to generate swells that will affect the northwestern Bahamas and the U.S. coast from Florida to North Carolnia. Forcasters say that these swells could cause life threatening surf. Questions:

Do you think that this storm will be more devistating than hurrican Dorian why or why not?

I don't think so because I think people will be more prepaired for this hurricane if it becomes one.

Do you think that more people now will leave if the hurricane heads their way after what they saw from Dorian why or why not?

I think more people will leave because now that they have seen what hurricanes can really do they will be scared and won't want to be caught in the middle of that.

  • Good overall. Be sure to reply three different days and you also could have commented a few more times.

  • I don't think that it is because it's suppose to stay off shore and I think that this will limit the amount of damage. I think that some might but they still are against it and some would rather stayand protect their home.

  • 1. - I don't think this strom will cause a lot of damge in the long run. These areas know how to handle situations like this, and in terms of how much damage wil be done, I'm still not sure but hopefully not a lot.

    2. - Yes, I think they will leave. After the damage from Dorian was seen, this might be a warning sign to the people who stayed or who left that they should stay out or leave before Humberto hits because objects can be replaced.

  • I do not think it will be as bad because people actually have time to prepare but i still think that it will do some good damage. I think people will leave but some people will stay because they dont wanna take everything.

  • I don't think it will be that devastating but I think it will be a little devastating because of the money they have all wasted to build and rebuild.  I think they will because they have already wasted enough money rebuilding so why not move to another place where no hurricanes will hit.

    • I agree with you because I think it is very unlikely that it will become as strong as Dorian. I also agree that people have learned their lesson and will more than likely move if needed.

  • 1. I don't think it will be becauseI think the winds will only increase to about 100-120 mph.

    2. I think they will because there houses are probably mostly destroyed and if another hurricane comes through, there will be more deaths.

    • I dissagree because if they were to reach 100 it would be classified as a hurricane. I dissagree because it is moving away from where Dorian hit.

  • It may not be as severe because it is a secondary storm and it may not be as strong as Dorian. I feel more people will leave since the last hurricane. Others don't have a choice because they may not have a method of transportation or a place to go to seek shelter from the storm.

  • I dont think that it would be as bad as Dorian, although Humberto is strengthening I dont think it would do as much damage as Dorian had done. I think people will still be stuborn and not leave even after what dorian did to the bahamas.
