On Sunday, December 1st, a seven passenger car train was derailed while going around a turn. All seven of the passenger cars went off the track and most of the windows were blown in and gravel was flung on the inside of the coaches. The whole train flipped on it's side and slid quite a ways. 4 passengers were killed at the incident, and at least 67 were injured. Investigators were sent out right after it happened, but haven't came up with a conclusion yet except for the engineer possibly going to fast around the turn.
What do you guys think about this? Do you think it was the drivers fault, or just an error with the train or the tracks? What should railroad services do to prevent incidents like this?

Good job Levi!
I think the train may have been going too fast or there was some sort of mechanical error. So sad that so many people were hurt
This is crazy, and I'm happy there weren't anymore deaths with such a deadly accident. I think accidents happen, and I am sure the conductor was not looking to crash, there was just a hiccup in the tracks. It is hard to prevent things like this, they just sort of happen. Are the tracks regulated often? Because I think if they aren't it would help prevent more things like this from happening.
While a sad story, I cant believe that more people didn't die. As for the cause, I think that it could be because of speed.
The driver could have slowed down to prevent the crash so maybe the driver should be held responsible for this. This is a terrible thing and drivers should be more careful.
I don't think this was the drivers fault because i saw this on the news and said he had been working for them a long time and hadn't had any accidents. I think it was the tracks or maybe the train wasn't working right. I think they should maybe be a little better a checking every train more often but i don't know for sure.
On the article I read, it said that there has actually been a few derailments at the same spot.
I'm not sure if there are speed recommendations or not but, I think it would be helpful to have them and prevent more accidents like this.
It's just like a big car wreck. People get carried away and go to fast. It's kind of like speeding, only bigger.
I think this is a tragic event. They should look at the driver's blood alcohol as well. Where did this take place?
