NBA player Trae Young drilled a deep three in the third quarter agains the Bulls and proceedes to stare down Kris Dunn with his hands on his hips which drew a technical and an ejection. Earlier in the game the two were saying things to each other and stuff was said between the two. Trae Young continued to explain that he "try's to" play with emotion, passion, effort, and a little bit of flair. Young finished with 18 points and 5 assists. The game went into quadruple-overtime and the Bulls lost.
1. Do you think it was fair to eject him?
2. Do you think that a stare down is inappropriate in the NBA?

I think that staring someone just makes for more competive play which is what the fans are there for. I dont believe that he should have been ejected because a stare down is not the same as physically having an altercation with another player.
I mean I don't think anyone should be ejected because they showed emotion, well I mean it depends what he did, If he yelled it makes sense but like crying, etc then I don't think thats appropriate. I don't think that is appropriate because that is literally nothing compared to like yelling and punching eachother. This is just a staredown, to people looking at eachother, no violence needed.
I don't believe that the technical and the ejection was necessary in this situation. Stare downs happen a lot in the NBA. Since they were exchanging words earlier, that could have deserved a technical but the stare down didn't. I don't think that they needed in the NBA though.
I totally agree with you, he shouldnt be ejected from the game because he stared someone down after he made a deep 3. I agree stare downs happen all the time in the NBA and other people dont get ejected because of it. Refs should worry about something other than a stare down.
I dont think it was the right idea to eject him. Players should have to do something way more serious then state someone down to get ejected. I don't think it is that inappropriate. It's basically another player trying to get in someones head.
I agree with you; I don't think is something you should do, it is just the player trying to disturbe the player from the other team, but if you do it you shouldn't receive something as serious as am ejection.
I think it was wrong to eject him, players showing emotion shouldn't get them ejected from the game. No I think players should be allowed to show emotion and celebrate how they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, staring someone down is just disrespectful but should not be a foul.
I also agree it was wrong to eject him. Showing emotion isnt something you should get in trouble for either. If they arent hitting someone shoving or spitting they should be able to celebrate the way they want to. I agree he didn't disrespect anyone he was just showing him that it was a good shot.
I don't think that ejecting a player for showing a little emotion during a game is very fair. Just because a player celebrates a little bit after a three, it doesnt mean that the player should be ejected for taunting or whatever it was. The staredown is probably the least threatening thing in the NBA, there are so many worse things that players can do and staring someone down is not that bad.
I agree that Trae Young was just showing some emotion after he hit a big 3 in a game that was a back and forth game and it wasn't fair for him to be ejected from the game. I also agree that a staredown is not very threatening.
