Toyota's creating robots?

Toyota, known for being a large car manufacturing company, has just released their newest technology. The Kirobo can do much more than any of us could think. It not only can move around, this 10 centimeter robot can detect human emotion through facial recognition and voice patterns. This was originally supposed to help enhance the Toyota vehicles by making surveying easier but it now being used for more of an everyday choice.

While the price of the Kirobo is still expensive for it being in the prototype phase, at a price of approximately $387. The kirobo is able to work by your phone's bluetooth and many different sensors. While this robot is only currently only in Japan many are looking forward to it coming into the United States.

Questions:

Would you get a Kirobo robot, why?

What type of other robots such as this one would you look forward to,why?

My opinion: Although I would find this little robot a bit distracting while driving, I find this is very good in our society. There are so many car accidents caused by people being on there phones and I feel that if this Kirobo could prevent even a small fraction that it would be doing a lot of good. I am hoping that they do create a flying car, it's a classic science fictional object yet I hope that they do figure it out. I am also looking forward into a lot of the self driving cars and smart houses

  • Well done!

  • I sometimes focus on peoples emotions to help them, so this technology is definitely something. I would look forward to robots that could be used to help others more than just serving people.

  • No, because I think it's too gimmicky and I don't need one. I think some sort of computer AI that can talk to you and recognize you would be very neat.

  • i would nto get one because our phone is distracting enough, and i feel like people would get into more car crashes. I am hoping that they do one day create the flying cars but the crashes would be more deadly, to the people flying and the people outside. Self driving cars would be very handy but if they have this later people will actually not learn how to drive they will just have something do it for them #lazy lol

  • I would not buy Kirobo. That is $387 that I could spend somewhere else instead on a robot that is going to read my emotions. I don't need someone else to read my emotions I mean I can very easily know how I feel without someone else telling me.

  • I wouldn't buy it, it would be a waste of money and it isn't something I need.  None, I can do things myself without a robot there to do it for me

  • I would not buy the robot because I would find it very distracting while driving and its to pricey. I know that in the future robots will be abundant and they will be doing all of our work, which would not be good because it would leave people unemployed. I do want to at least ride in a flying car but I don't think I would like it.

  • I wouldn't get a Kirobo robot because it it way to expensive for something that I don't need. Robots are the future but if I am going to get one they need to be much more advanced. I think one day everything will be done with robots, but I don't like the idea of there being robots everywhere and people will be replaced with robots leaving everybody unemployed.

  • I don't think so because I really don't need it. Ya robots are cool but it wouldn't help me that much so its kinda of useless. Pretty soon robots will do everything so I'm not looking forward to have a ton of personal robots around. I think people think that life with robots will become easier and yes it will, but when robots start doing most jobs everyone will be unemployed.

  • I would rather have a robot that can do something far more useful. Such as build something, or perform surgery. Maybe something a little more important than reading peoples emotions.
