There was recently the NYC marathon run. Over 47,000 runners gathered to take place in this event. After the recent Boston Marathon bombing, which left hundreds injured and three dead, the security was really tight. There were simple things like baggage screening and police officers and more in depth helicopters and scuba divers watching out for threats. I think that it is a good thing that they decided to spend some more money on security purposes. Do you think spending extra money was necessary? How far do you think we need to go to keep having mass events like this? Do you think that they would have this much security if not for the Boston Marathon bombing? Here is the Link for the story. It is a good thing that there is extra security there. When nothing happens for a while security gets soft and people get more willing to try something. I think it is a good idea to do this here and in a lot of events.
I think this is a very good idea! I agree that they need to spend more money on security stuff like this. I don't think they would have done any of this if the bombing wouldn't of happened, but im glad they are doing something about it now.
It is a very good and worthwhile precaution to take so that another bombing doesnt happen again. Even if it takes a little time, it is better than some one getting hurt or killed.
I don't think it was necessary because the bombing was just two crazy people that found an event to make an impression on by bombing it. it people wanted they could bomb other places besides marathons.
Yes I think spending the money on the extra security was worth it because you never know when they could hit. I think they should always have high security at these big events it makes things a lot safer.
I think it was a good idea to have extra security because it gives people peace of mind after the Boston Marathon bombing.. it is also sad that this day in age people cant go and do what they love without some sort of threat ..
I think that this is necessary. It's sad that we have to have security like this because that means there are people out there that want to harm other people. But i think we need this security to keep these people safe.
I agree that its sad that we need to do things like this. Too bad it is out of our control and not everybody is good.
I think that having the extra security is good because you can always get rid of some but cannot get more on the day of. I think that it is very necessary to have this much security. I think that this most likely would not be happening if they Boston incident did not happen.
Well this is a good thing but the government staged the bombings anyway so this is only to make them look like they are trying to do something about what has happened.
