As teens, we say we need a coffee to get through the day. But what exactly is happening to your body through the consumption of these drinks? Although we can handle many things at once, our brains are still making vital neural connections. It may be shocking, but because of this we have a lower tolerance to caffeine. These sugary concoctions could be affecting us in different ways. Though it seems they supply you the extra boost to survive running on 2 hours of sleep, caffeine could cause anxiety and nervousness, impair your body from getting a good night's rest, and create issues staying focused at school. The drug, yes, it’s a drug, is addictive and literally changes the way the brain functions, affecting mood, thinking ability, and behavior. It can cause addictions too, when you stop your daily dose of fun filled sugar, you can go through the withdrawal symptoms. To read more about these symptoms and the rest of the article, click here.
Questions:
- Do you drink coffee in the morning? If so, how much and how often?
No, I do not.I used to, freshman year. But as the article said, it impaired my ability to concentrate. If I do have coffee it’s at church once a week.
- Would you consider yourself as a caffeine addict?
I was actually. When I stopped drinking it I would get really bad headaches and blurry vision.

I do not drink coffee in the morning. This is mostly because I don't like the taste of normal coffee, and if too much creamer and sugar is added it makes me sick because it is too sweet. I wouldn't consider myself a caffine addict. This is probably because I don't consume a lot of caffine.
When I do drink coffee it is normally in the morning but I don't drink that much and its not often that I drink it either. I don't need caffeine all the time but there are some days where it is just something that gives you a boost during the day and it makes me feel more awake.
I do, but I don't drink it as much I only drink it when I really think i need it other wise I stay away from the drink. No, i would not consider myself caffeine addicted becasue i can go a while without drinking caffeine drinks.
I have never had coffee. I'm not intrested in cofee or tea espically when it's hot out. I always have water at school. I wouldn't consider myself as a caffenine addict I barely drink any of it.
One thing that I think is interesting about coffee is that the generation of our grandparents or maybe even our parents can drink coffee all throughout the day and even into the night and still sleep and function normally. Maybe they have a higher tolerance or it doesn't even affect them anymore.
I don't think I am a caffeine addict because I can and do stop drinking it for a long period of time without craving it. The only reason I drink it is that I like it and sometimes it does give you an energy boost but not a very big one unless you drink espresso or dark roast.
I sometimes drink coffee in the mornings but I do see a difference as to when I drink coffee every day for a week and then stop all of the sudden. I can definitely say that the withdrawal symptoms are real and effect a lot of people. At least coffee isn't as bad for you as energy drinks though.
I am not a caffeine addict because I do not drink coffee. I do not think that I will drink coffee for a long time and I might not ever really start drinking it because I have tried it before and didn't like it.
Over the summer I drank coffee basically every morning, and if it wasn't in the morning it was in the afternoon. Then when school and sports started I stopped drinking so much coffee. I probably would've over the summer because I drank it every day and when I didn't have it I got head aches and always seemed tired.
