In April almost 100 years after the Titanic set sail from Southampton, England, Items as small as a hairpin and 5,000 artifacts from the world’s most famous shipwreck are being auctioned off. It’s almost the 100th anniversary of the disaster. The Titanic’s sinking claimed the lives of more than 1,500 passengers and crew out of the 2,228 that were on it.The collection was appraised in 2007 at $189 million. There are things that belong to the passengers and the crew. Purses, eyeglasses, fine china, table settings, bottles, even the stand that the ship’s wheel stood.I think it would be kinda cool to see how much people are willing to pay.For the items that are being sold, how much would you pay?You never know it could be a good collector’s item and you could get twice what you paid in another 100 years or so.Link: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/titanic-items-sold-100-years-sinking-15295867

I don't think that they should be selling these things. They could belong to someone that passed away and died and it would be a tribute to them to keep them in a museum where they would actually be taken care of in the proper way.
I don't think they should sell them. They should give them to families of the people who died on the Titanic. Well, if they could figure out who they belonged to. But I bet they will make a huge amount of money off of that.
I understand that it would be a cool part of history, but why would you spend that much money on a parts of a ship that crashed and had killed a lot of people?
People are crazy... they will pay A LOT for stuff like that. I mean its cool but ridiculous. Why not just put them in a museum...? That way everyone can enjoy them!
A lot of people love the titanic like me. I would probably buy something that was from the titanic! It would be awesome! In the long run the items could be worth more then what they are now.
I think that these items will be sold at very steep prices. The Titanic sinking was a very important and shocking event in history. Being able to own items like these would be like a look into the past at what the wealthy passengers of the Titanic had for belongings.
Ya the items are cool and the sinking of the Titanic made a huge impact in our history, but I personally would not buy something for that much money, even if it is that historical and cool.
I for one, would definitely not spend that much money on historic things like that, but they would be really cool to have! But what would these people that bought those items possibly do with them? Just keep them in safe keeping?

I love the Titanic! If I had lots of money I would so buy something. If Rose and Jack were real, I would definitely want something of theirs. ;)
Why would you want to sell that kind of stuff?! In a couple more years it would be way more valuable...I would wait a decade or 2.
