time box

In recent news the first Lutheran church of Oklahoma City dug up and opened a time capsule that was buried for 100 years.  The artifacts inside were intact, the reason being that they were placed in a copper chest.  The chest was also buried in concrete walls and under 12 inches of a concrete top.  It had newspaper, a dress, a phone, a flag, a camera, shoes, and a pen used by the president.

I think that these people 100 years ago had the right idea and it would be cool to do the same.

  • I'm sure those artifacts could be worth a lot of money! It's amazing how something so old could be kept intact so well. You would think that some sort of "element" would get to that time capsule, but it looks like whoever buried the box did a great job! I'd be really excited if I were there to open the time capsule. It's not everyday you find 100 year old artifacts in a church yard.

  • that's a pretty cool idea, it's good that no one forgot about it being buried

  • That's sweet, I wish I found that.
