Tim Tebow In MLB?

Former Heisman trophy winner and professional quarterback Tim Tebow has signed a contract with the New York Mets . Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said that this not a publicity stunt. Sandy also said that Tebow is a tremendous athlete and is looking forward to watching him play. Tebow, who has not played baseball since High school, which will make things interesting on how he will plays.

1. Do you think this a publicity stunt or do you think the Mets want Tebow for his talent?

2. Do you think Tebow will make it big in Major Leage Baseball?

  • Well done Ryan! Go Tebow! Anything to bring Tebowing back is good in my mind.

  • I honestly don't know if they are serious. It would make more sense if it was a stunt. I'm not very big into baseball, but I'm pretty sure even though he's a professional athlete he will still have some serious work to do. The fact that he hasn't played in a while makes it even harder to see him as a professional baseball player.

  • I think the possibility of both are definitely possible but a publicity stunt makes more sense if he hasn't played in a while. Just being a good athlete doesn't mean your good at any sport. If this Is really real he might but i dont know if he is good or just ok.

  • I believe there is a little bit of both in the mix. Obviously he has to have talent to be picked up by an MLB team, but if you watched his tryouts, a lot of other prospects should get looked at compared to him. Since he has such a high profile though, he was provided with a lot more opportunity, and I think that really helped him make it to the MLB. Also, I think it will help the Mets publicity status a little bit, but he will be playing in the minors.

  • I think its probably a  publicity stunt because he hasn't played baseball since high school. I think they just wanted sign a good athlete to their team to make money. I don't think he will make it very far because he hasn't played in forever but who knows he could train hard to become a good mlb player for the Mets.

  • I think that it is a little of both. He might be a great baseball player but it doesn't hurt the Mets signing a very popular athlete. A lot of athletes are very good at different sports so it will most likely be easy for him to adapt. I don't think he will be huge because he probably would have started with baseball if he was great but you never know he might of been saving the best for last.

  • I think it is a publicity stunt because they wouldn't waste money signing him if he hasn't played baseball since high school for no reason. This will bring in a lot of publicity for the Mets which will help bring in a lot more money. Honestly I don't know if he will make it in Major League Baseball because I have never seen him play. I am sure a lot of people will want to see how he does in MLB so it should be interesting.

  • Tim Tebow is a great athlete, so I don't think this is a publicity stunt. He has a good arm from being a quarterback. I think he can definitely make it big because a story about someone switching from NFL to MLB is a big deal. He is a talented athlete who I think can make it work.

  • I do not think that this is a publicity stunt. The Mets want Tebow for his talent, because he can throw good. I think he will make it big in the MLB, because he has a good arm.

    • I agree with you on this because the Mets want to win. If they didn't want to win, they wouldn't waste money on him. He has a good arm because the hard work he does pays off later on.
