Tiger Snake Found in Air Conditioner

As the weather warms in Australia, snakes are begining to emerge from hiding. When math teacher Danny Marcok of Melbourne, Australia woke up Thursday morning, he noticed a tail hanging from from the air conditioner in his bedroom. Initially believeing it was a rat, his wife took a closer look and found it to be a snake. After calling Stewy the Snake Catcher, the snake handler discovered a 75 cm (29.5 in) tiger snake. Marcok explained that if someone had stuck their hand into the air conditioner, the snake likely would have tried to protect itself, although it was unlikely to attack if not provoked.

What would be the first thing you would do if you found a highly-venemous snake like the Tiger snake in your house?

I would call someone who was trained to deal with snakes to remove it.

If you had the snake removed from your house, would you be worried about there being more snakes somewhere else in the house?

I would not be concerned because snakes tend to stay outside.

  • Good overall. I do think your summary is a bit brief, especially your personal thoughts. I think the issue is your story choice which led to weak questions.

  • I would definitely leave the house and call a professional. I don't think I would have to much concern since this is just one incident, but it would probably stay in the back of my mind for a while.

  • I think the first thing I would do would be leave the house immediantly and call a professional to come get the snake out of my house. I would also try to find where it snuck in and how I could prevent from more getting in my house. Yes I would be worried because others could have gotten in the same way that one got in.

  • If I found a tiger snake in my air conditioner, I would evacuate the house for the day and call a professional who could deal with the situation. Additionally, I would be worried there would be more snakes somewhere else in the house because if there was a highly-venomous snake in my air conditioner, who's to say that they wouldn't make a home of other unsuspected places?

  • The first thing I would do is get out of that room and call a profesional to come and get rid of it for me. I would probubly be a little worried about more getting in my house, I would look for how it got in and seal it us so that will hopefully never happen again.

    • I wouldn't go as far as leaving the room, but I would also call a proffesional to come in and deal with it. I don't think I would be worried about more unless I had previously seen another one.

  • I would probably freak out before calling a professional in to remove it so no one got hurt. I would only be concerned if the snake was female and it was around the time they lay because there could possibly be babies around and if one snake could get into the house I would worry about others getting in.

    • I would definitely agree with calling a professional to come in. I did not think about the possibility of there being a mom and her babies, since the mom would maybe try to attack.

  • I think I would immediatly call an expert, and then I would maybe try to make sure the snake doesnt escape into a hiding spot in the house. I would also be very creeped out that a snake was in my house in the beginning. I would go grab some snake traps/poison so i wouldnt have to deal with them alive.

    • I would try to get someone who can deal with the snake to come to my house instead of me handling it by myself. However, I would think that traps and poison could work.
