The Suez Canal

The Suez Canal got stuck between the canal and that evergreen had a lot of imorting goods and 27% of the world trade goes on that canal. One day while the evergreen was going through the canal it was very windy and the back of the boat was out of control at this point and they did not know what to do. When the back of the ship was going back and fourth the front and back of the boat got stuck horizontialy so blocking everything of all of that 27 % of the world trade has stopped becuase of that boat got stuck and now there were almost like 45 other boats on each side of the canal's. Blocking the canal is a big factor considering that is 27% of the world trades are blocked until the evergreen is unstuck. 8730424861?profile=RESIZE_400x

How would you feel if you were driving the evergreen boat?

What would you have done if you were in that situation?

  • Good topic choice Haiden! I do wish you would inlcude more of your thoughts and opinions within your summary which would also make it longer.

  • I would've felt dumb for taking that risk. Because as a ship captain you have to know all your surroundings and how they are affecting your boat. In my opinion, I think I would have delayed going through the canal until I communicated with those running the canal that I could possibly get struck and to have tug boats at the ready instead of being unprepared for the situation.

  • I would feel stupid and completely irresponsible. I would've tried to take safer precautions to avoid that because it shouldn't have happened. I don't think the ship really could've gotten out of the situation, it was just a big mess. I think that they will do whatever they can to get the evergreen unstuck.

  • I would feel very responsible for what I have just done I would feel a bit stupid actually. I think that there wasn't a way out of this situation unfortunately there's not really a way to just stop in the middle of the canal and not stop the flow of ships. I think that they are doing everything they can to get the evergreen unstuck but that might take some time.

  • I would almost feel stupid. How could you let a huge cargo ship like that get caught in the Suez Canal which also happens to be the only way through to the Mediterranean sea? That is an unknown question at this point. If I had been in that situation I would've attempted to take better sefety procautions in order to avoid something like. It has been terrible and a lot worse than most thought it would turn out to be.

  • I would be worried about losing my job and what damage I have caused to the canal. The captain of the boat was either fired or in a lot of trouble after this accident. How long was the evergreen boat stuck in the canal, and what did it take to get it unstuck?

  • If I was the driver I would be scared of tiping over the boat and crashing all the cargo. I would feel really bad because all the people who had Items on that boat would be lost. I would of called for help and just sat in dissapointment in myself even though I couldn't help it.

    • If the boat tiped over there would be a lot of money being losed for people and how many carts are there would mabey block the canal and everything would be behind a couple of months.

  • If I was drivinf the boat I think I would be scared and then call for someone to help out so it wouldnt get worse. If I was in this situation I would call someone to help and tell them what was going on so they could get somone to get the boat unstuck.

    • i would be scared of losing my job and losing other peoples job or losing money at the same time.
