The "Unjustice" League

An anonymous letter bitterly insulting African-American officers was recently found in mailboxes at a Connecticut police station. It starts out with the words, "WHITE POWER" and contains a line that reads, "These Black Officers belong in the toilet." It ends with the repeating of the words "WHITE POWER." The letter was flagged by "The Bridgeport Guardians", a police organization for minority officers. The letter singles out one African American officer in particular, Clive Higgins. It is believed he is singled out because he was recently charged with unneeded force; kicking a detained white man. The letter also involved a Hispanic and Caucasian officer as well-Elson Morales and Joseph Lawlor-who already quit their jobs as policeman and are due to serve three months in prison for aiding in the undue kicking charges with Higgins. Whoever wrote the letter obviously didn't like Higgins, because they added in the letter, "You better watch your back. We know where you live. Your face was all over the newspaper. Remember you have no duty weapon to defend yourself."

How would you feel if you had received a letter like this, threatening your life, and discriminating your well-being?

Do you think the "unjust kicking" of the white male was really, "unjust"? Why or why not?

  • Good overall. Be sure to hyperlink your story.

  • I would be terrified if this were to happen to me.

  • If these people threatened my life and knew my personal information I would be terrified. Most times this happens the writers of the letter are 90% talk but the other 10% that will follow through, in my mind, would be the ones that wrote the leader. Though these men should not have been kicking the detained man, there is no reason why these people should be threatening this man. What if the kicking was blown out of proportion and he is under fire for no reason.

    • Exactly! They don't know the whole story. All these men saw was a tape of the officers kicking a detained white male, they don't know why! Some people take things way past the appropriate point without thinking things through. I wonder much weight these men lost, jumping to conclusions? ^_^ LULZ
