The "Tweakly" Report

A Chicago reporter for WGN lost it after an anchor asked her how cold it was outside on live television. The reporter immediately freaked out, and started criticizing the newscast, and other pedestrians. She would strongly criticize about one particular women's "long underwear" (pantyhose), stating, "look at this lady!...Is she kidding?" The other newscasters that were inside, in the warm news-station, kept repeating telling her she was fine. The news reporter then replied to the corresponding cast, "you have got to be kidding! You need to come on down here with me, it is no joke! You can only stand outside for a few minutes, before your face starts to freeze, and hurt!" The newscasters on the other end just laughed, and told her she was fine. In my opinion, she looked a little angry! 0_0

If you were in this newscasters position, and had to stay outside in the FREEZING climate and broadcast live, how would you feel?

How would you respond if your news companions were laughing at you from the station, while you were being serious about how cold it was, and having them repeatedly tell you you're fine?

Would you quit, or stay with the same newscast? Why or why not?

  • Well done!

  • As long as I am warm and it pays well I would stay with the job.

  • Well as long as i am dressed warm i'll be fined. if they were laughing at me i wouldn't care. I would not quite because its a job

    • Yea, I'd be fine. A job is a job, either way I'd make it fun.

  • It's ridiculous that they would treat her like that... They have no respect.... I'd be very upset with all my co-workers.
It would depend on how much I'm getting paid for the job. If it was a decent amount, then I'd just ignore them and do my job.

    • Payment would be a major decider for whether I deal with the embarrassment or mocking. Either way, I might have just done my job, and maybe added a little pizzazz in myself.

  • I would feel fine because if I took this job I would have to put up with the climate. I would yell at them if they were criticizing me and tell them to come stand out here for me. I would probably stay with the same news team. That is until I could get a different job.

    • Good point. People do have to realize the types of conditions they have to undergo when considering occupations. Good point!

  • Obliviously I would not enjoy it but I wouldn't go insane on live television I would be professional about it. I would be pissed of if my coworkers were laughing at me but I still would be professional about it.

    • I wouldn't even notice they were mocking or making fun of me. I would ignore them, and do my job professionally like I should.
