1.) if you where on the team do you think that you would have protested or not?

If i was on the team I probably would have just gone along with it because i really don't have that huge of an opinion on the entire matter .

2.) Do you really think that Bob McNairs comments were all that offensive?

I personally don't see whats so offensive about them although I guess there is a lot of things that I don't understand yet.

  • Good topic and well done! Be sure to comment three different days.

  • I wouldn't kneel solely because I would be afraid of the criticizing comments that I would get from everyone right now. It is the team's decision on if they want to stand or kneel and it is their right to do so, I don't really think they were offensive, but I can kind of see where they are coming from with it. He could have been a bit more respectful.

  • If I was on the team I would have been one to stand. It is there decision on what they want to do and if they want to kneel they can but I would stand. I don't think the comments were that offensive but he could have said it a lot different and been more respectful.

    • I agree with you for the most part. I agree that it is there choice to do so or not but just because you have the choice to do something doesn't always necessarily make it the right thing to do. For example I have the opportunity to rob a bank. Am i going to do it? obviously not because it isn't right.

  • I personally wouldn't kneel just because I think it's more respectful, but after that comment that McNair made, I can see why some of the players would go further in more acts of rebellion. I don't really think the comments were that offensive because he's right but he could have reworded what he thought differently.

    • I agree with the last part of your comment but the first part I have to kind of argue with. Who decided that we had to stand during the national anthem? Some man or woman just like us we are all humans we have the right to decide what we want to do with our lives and when we want to do it.

  • I would not protest because it seems like a complete waste of time and energy but maybe that's because I don't have enough emotional attachment for a reason to protest. I personally am not easy to offend so none of this really catches my attention in that way. I think there is always 2 or more sides to a story and all of them have the opportunity to make sense. It all depends on how you look at things and or where you stand with your emotions.

    • Ok lets look at things like this if our president said something like "the Taliban are nice and helpful". what would happen? the people would get outraged. there are somethings you just don't say and the inmates thing is one of those things.

  • If I was on the team I would have stood during the National Anthem. That was how I was raised. I don't think that anyone should kneel during the National Anthem. Yes I understand that its there right but many men and some women fought for your right to be free, and the least we could do is respect them. I don't think those comments were offensive at all. I think the players kneeling is more offensive.

  • I'm not sure it's your own opinion that matters so if you wanted to kneel during the national anthem go for it it's your choice. He said mates shouldn't run the prison referring the players to inmates is extremely offensive it's like if I said to someone girls shouldn't play sports because one of them beat me it would be ridiculous.
