On wednesday the Ukrainian military posted a video on twitter with the caption "Video proof. Russian command did order its soldiers to dig fortifications near the Chornobyl nuclear power plant in the radioactive Red Forest in March, 2022". The video was captured by a drone, the video shows the ground that looks dug up and then does a 360 of its surroundings. While the drone showed us the sourroundings it seemed to zoom in on the chernobyl nuclear reactor which is estimated to be 2 miles from the place the video was filmed.
five weeks after invading chernobyl exclusion zone they left which was around one week ago. while the russians were there it was roported that they were digging trenches, not only did they dig trenches but it was said that they suffered from radiation sickness. Acording to ukraine workers, "troops drove armored vehicles through the Red Forest without any protective gear and exposed themselves to radioactive dust." a worker there said that it seemed that some troops were unaware of the 1986 disastor.
