Well this couple thought it would be great to have some color with the background of there gender reveal photoes. They werent thinking when they used a colored smock devices that has typically a long cylinders and a fuse thats let, and they let it set there and burn. Today the wildfire is 24k acres long. There are more then 500 fire fighters on the ground right know.  Out off the 24k acres thats burning theres only 6% thats controlled. They also  say they wont be able to maintain until oct.15, thats also if there are no more suprises.

At Least 400 Homes Destroyed By New California Fire | WGLT

The fires went over highway 39 aswell. There are 24,226 buildings distroyed due to the fires. As I read this I ask my self what will the the couple do next? There are 97 civillanes died, 6 fire fighters have passed, and there are 11 residents missing from northern california. What are they going to do with the couple? Is the goverment going to let them go? Was there even any warnings/ rules that they never followed? Because of there being deaths will that go on the couple and if so what will happen to there kid? Here is something to ask, was it the couple that hade the idea or was it the photographer? know again if it was the phootgrapher what will happen to them? Know is the goverment or is the state of california just going to let it go with a warning?

  • McKenna,

I think you did a good job on summary as you ask a lot of good questions. I do wish you would have sgared what you think more in regards to those questions. You also didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points. Also, be sure to use spell/grammar check to help eliminate typos.

  • I also wonder what happens to the couple or photographer next. I believe they both are responsible because at least one of them should have stopped the idea before it was executed. The size of these fires are astounding and having a fire like that going and growing until October is astonishing.

  • The couple should've known better then to use smoke devices in the dry season of California, especially if they're from around there. I think they should face chrages, it's just really hard to know what charges. As for the photographer, I don't really know what to think of their part in it. Although they were taking the pictures it wasn't their idea and it's not as if they conspired to start this. All of the participants actions caused so much pain to that area, all because of a photo shoot gone wrong. You'd also think that maybe California could do something to prevent these wildfires. I don't mean that they're responsible, but maybe during the dry season, the dryest parts of California has their parks closed until a certain point.

  • I definitely don't think that this couple should have been using this smoke device in the middle of prime fire season. I would also find it very strange that if they had a photographer that their photographer even agreed to it. So not only could this couple get blamed for it but the photographer could to. I honestly don't think a lot will happen to these people, because it could have honestly been a accident and there might not have been any other witnesses to say it wasn't.

  • I think there action was very irresponible of them to do and also not taking fire safety protocalls during the gender reveal, however this was an acciddent that just got out of hand. The couple should be punished but I feel it shouldn't be a terrible punishment due to it being an accident. I think that California should start doing more about the dryness out there and should start to do different things to help prevent wildfires such as this one to stop happening.

  • I think it was irresponsible of them to not take fire precautions during their party, however it was an accident that simply went out of control. I feel like they should be punished in some way, but i'm not sure what punishment would be fitting. California, and a lot of the west coast, is known to be very dry, and those states should create more mandates that will help prevent more accidental fires such as this one.

  • I dont think the couple shouldve been doing this in a forest because they could of easily done it in there back yard and avoided all of this. also them causing this has caused multiple casulties and dissapearances.

  • I think that it was a horible accident and that the couple definetly didn't mean to start the whole state of California on fire. Before they started this fire, they should of looked at the rules and the guidlines of starting a fire. If it was dry or just the right amount of moisture in the ground, and they could of made their decession that way.

  • I do not think that the couple meant to let the fire get that bad out of hand, however I do think it was not smart for them to think of it in the first place because there were probably sings everywehre warning and telling people not to start fires. So I think that it is their fault mostly.

  • I think that there should be some punishment done on the couple.  California and the Pacific Northwest is known for sever wildfires, especially in summer.  I'm not familiar how strict the restrictions are on pyrotechnics in California, but they'll sure be strict now.  I don't think it will matter too much if it was the couple or photographer who came up with the idea, but they will most likely both have some sort of punishment.
