The new McLaren Elva supercar recently came out and it’s making big headlines because it doesn’t have a roof or windows! It costs $1.7 million without adding options like a windshield, but in some US states you will have to buy a windshield for it because it’s illegal. Like me, you might be wondering how can this be safe to drive. Apparently, there’s an automatic roll over system that senses when the car is about to tip over but who really knows how safe this really is. What if a rock or something flies at your face because there’s no windshield to protect you. The Elva has 804 V8 engine behind the seats. It supposedly can go from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds.
Would you ever buy this car?
Personally I think it’s too dangerous to drive because so many things go wrong in a normal car with a roof and windshield and this car doesn’t have either.
Would you trust the automatic roll over system?
I wouldn’t because so many things go wrong with technology and you are basically putting your life into their hands and trusting that it will work.

Well done Maci! Be sure to provide a hyperlik to your story.
Even if I had the money to buy a car like this, I think I wouldn't even try an electric based vehicle. I wouldn't trust the automatic roll over system either. I'll stick to the basic mechanical cars from before the 200's.
I would definitely buy this car if I was rich enough because it is one of the first of its kind and is very unique. I would trust that the system works, but I don't know how far it would go as to protecting me. I know that in some new sports cars such as lamborghinis or ferraris, they have thick metal rods that will stick out from the top of the car to add extra protection when the car is crashed or rolled. I'm sure this car will have this feature as well.
Yeah I agree with your ideas about the roll over system, I couldn't really find any information on how it worked, but I assume it would work the same as the systems in the cars that you listed.
I don't think I will for two reasons. First, I don't believe I will ever be able to afford the heafty price. So there's that. Second, even if I were able to afford it, I wouldn't be it because I would rather drive a nice car as oppose to a fast car. I think the automatic roll over system would be good, but I don't think I would completely trust it.
I would defebnitely never have the money to buy a car of this caliber. I'm not into super cars necesarriily because there sleak and cool but I prefer trucks and mustangs and such. I would trust the system. If it's been tested enough to be released to the public I would trust to drive it.
Even if I had the money, I still don't think this is the car that I would buy. There are many other cool cars that cost less, safer to drive, and come with it's own windshield rather than it being an additional cost. I would only trust the automatic roll over system if it had been proven effective and many studies have been performed to be sure that it works correctly.
I agree with you, there are many other cars you can buy that are safer and just as cool.
I would not buy this car, because I can get a car at the junk yard and cut the roof off of it with a sawzall for a lot cheaper. I don't think it is a great idea to trust electronics to keep you safe in a roll over, because if they malfunctioned or the battery became dissconnected you wouldn't have them to protect you.
I feel like this car shouldn't even exist because of how unsafe it is and I wouldn't trust the automatic roll over system because every bit of tech can malfunction
